M [lab] - THE HIDDEN concept

M-LAB

As our first trial in order to win a major flour brand´s trust, they deliver us the task of designing their brand new flour laboratory, an architectural typology we´ve never develop before.

When we first heard the “Flour laboratory” concept, the first thought that came to our minds was the lack of knowledge on the subject, but the motivational feeling this ignorance gave us, as the research it involved, was heavier than any negative fact.

The lab should fulfill certain fundamental characteristics, it should be functional, aesthetic, secure and innovative, something which could pull the brand apart from their competitors.

This is how M[lab] was born, as a challenge, a trial and an interesting research of how the flour´s processes come together in order to achieve the maximum standard of quality and flavor.

Como nuestra primera prueba para ganar la confianza de cierta importante marca de harinas, se nos encargo el diseño de su nuevo laboratorio, algo que nunca habíamos hecho, una tipología totalmente externa a nuestros conocimientos.

Cuando escuchamos por primera vez “Laboratorio d harinas”, pensamos automáticamente en la falta de conocimiento con la que contábamos, pero al mismo tiempo nos dimos cuenta de la oportunidad de aprendizaje que se presentaba.

El laboratorio, debía contar con ciertas características fundamentales, debía ser “funcional, estético, vanguardista, seguro y que se diferenciara de los ya existentes manejados por la competencia”.

Así fue como surgió [M-LAB], como un reto, como una investigación y más importante, como un análisis.
